La nuit je ne mens pas
Au début du mois de juillet 2019, le distributeur Les acacias, en coopération avec Le Pacte, ont eu la bonne idée de sortir une rétrospective sélective de films réalisés par Jim Jarmusch. On a ainsi eu droit, dans les salles programmant l'événement, à Permanent vacation, Stranger than Paradise, Down by law, Mystery train, Dead man, ainsi que ce Night on earth. Soit les six premiers long-métrage du réalisateur du récent The dead don't die, tous en versions restaurées. Pour Night on earth, Jarmusch travaillait une fois de plus avec ses fidèles collaborateurs : il reprenait Roberto Benigni, déjà vu dans Down by law et Coffee and cigarettes, pour un rôle typiquement benignien, il initiait avec Isaac de Bankole une amitié artistique qui se poursuivra dans trois autres
