Gustave entrouvrit la fenêtre,
Son tableau prenait forme
Et lui, semblait difforme
Dans son vêtement.
Constance était lascive
À peine frissonnant,
La chair nue, expressive
À l’œil du maître, devant.
Le pinceau virevoltait,
La toile se remplissait
Et ma foi, la belle se demandait
À quoi elle allait
Ressembler
Ainsi présentée.
Ses cils clignaient,
Elle soupirait
Mais point ne bougeait
De peur d’être grondée.
Gustave ne disait mot
Mais observait Constance
Dans sa plus simple apparence
Avec un œil, ma foi, bien indiscret qu’il plongeait aussitôt
Sur sa toile avec plus encore d’attention.
Le jeu dura ainsi des heures,
De temps à autres, le pouls s’accélérait au cœur
Puis reprenait un rythme de croisière,
