In an interview with Pierre Bourdieu conducted by Roger Chartier, the French sociologist said that "sociology disturbs”, because it reflects an image to the other that it doesn’t like”. The same can be said with the rest of social and human sciences which are generally perceived as at best an unnecessary luxury and at worse as time poorly invested!

Social & Human Sciences vs Hard Sciences

We willingly oppose the natural sciences, the “real” ones, to the human and social sciences. The latter enjoy less notoriety than the hard sciences, because they do not benefit from the aura of scientificity of physics, biology or mathematics. Why is that?

Take the case of psychology. By democratising the concept of the unconscious - a concept described by Schopenhauer - Freud opened, as he

mmm...trying not to be too stupid, I need to answer this, 2 times.

Particularly this: "Human sciences do not study a hard object like an atom or a plant." How to write it...not yet perceived?

I have to reread this too.

Second time: I've discovered Gunter Anders lately, and more precisely the "Promethean Shame", which I like maybe as much as I have still not fully understood.

Finally, I'm still lost in the Information theorieS.

Just to say that I felt like a little too "twentiethed centuried" by the article.

Still thank you, Last time I wrote in English was 4 or 5 years ago.

Thank you for taking the time to read my paper and glad you found it interesting.

I quite enjoy the zoom-in you do on the idea that synapses are as hard matter as an atom. I think you nailed it quite right highlighting that it is not perceived "yet" as such. I mostly started the article with that idea that dog around a lot on that humans sciences are not actual sciences.

I tried to clear away and check in the reasons why, we are quick to hear that human sciences are pointless or unnecessary.

I'll read the two references you gave. Thank you for the recommendations!
