Jour n°9 #ram
He was one of the well known South Indian living saints and mystics. Yogi Ramsuratkumar was declared enlightened after having chanted the Ram mantra for 24 hours.
From a University teacher he made a leap to become a sanyasi, ‘this beggar’, as he called himself, acting as such when living in the streets and collecting old plastic bags in the town of Tiruvanamalai in Tamil Nadu. Yet, he was able to give valuable religious teachings and he used to ‘leave’ his body to ‘travel’ and spread them at the outskirts of India.
Moved by his sacredness, honouring the depth and the importance of his teachings, his pupils constructed a temple and an ashram for their Yogi.
In the adjacent Yogi Ramsuratkumar museum you can see some relics of his physical state : his nail cuts and his hair, together with a few objects that belonged to him.
In the temple, a life-size statue of the Yogi was placed and the Ram mantra : Om Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram is chanted throughout the day.

Isn’t life valuable when lived in different ways ? It is a great wisdom to be able to change.

Great models are these people who *choose* to live in extreme poverty 👍🏻 – becoming living proof that we don't need that much to live and be happy and wise 🙂
